Is there any way to extract the scan result (not the .img) from the MALDI Imaging tool and for example open it directly with Data explorer or other softwares such as Melanie X?
No. The Analyze format is fairly common and extremely simple so that you may write your own converter with little effort. Alternatively, you may extract the images in TIFF format using the export function in BioMap. Spectra can be exported from BioMap as ASCII files. These can be read by DE and other applications.
