In the BioMAP manual, page 3, it says we need at least 256 MB RAM. We have 1 GB. 600 MB *.img files take several minutes to load and can’t be analyzed once they are loaded. 300 MB *.img files don’t give us any problems. Is there a way to determine how much RAM we need to analyze large *.img files?
Thanks,
BL
At least twice the size of the image file.

When it comes to analyzing large image files, is the Unix OS any better? We would like to obtain images that look as much as possible like histology images. What kind of system would you recommend for files greater than 1-2 GB?
Thanks,
