Hi
Please help. I have down loaded biomap 3.8.0.4 toady along with the most recent IDL virtual machine IDL82. I have a key to register the software. I followed email instructions that came with the key and input zeros into MRI and WIP. I have also tried without adding the zeros. When I input the code into biomap the application does not open. I am left with 2 windows 1 BIOMAP output which says;
PBMT_SETUPSTRUCTURES: Home directory (UserDir) set to C:\Users\peffs\AppData\Roaming
PBMT_SETUPSTRUCTURES: Temp directory (TempDir) set to C:\Users\peffs\AppData\Local\Temp
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature MRI = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature MSI = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature WIP = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: License will never expireThe other runtime app which is blank.
If I then try to open biomap directly it asks again for a code (which having read a previous blog it does anyway). However I still cannot upload files as the import MSI is greyed out.Help appreciated,

If you are presented with a splash screen asking you to register upon start of BioMap, you don’t have an active registration. On this version of BioMap you don’t have to edit the license file. Please register, using copy/paste to transfer the Computer ID to the registration page. Once you receive the email (which should not take longer than a few seconds), copy the activation code directly to the box in the splash screen. This will then generate the license file for you. On a laptop, you might want to disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth before you do this.
Hope this helps, please let us know
Markus

November 18, 2013 at 11:33 pm #1505Marc GrenleyParticipantI am having this same problem essentially but slightly different.
When i try to open Biomap i get the splash screen asking for me to register. I tried putting in the registration code i received in email “61185255” and the comp ID is already filled in when i open it. But when i click ok the splash screen just dissapears and i’m left with those 2 windows, 1 blank and 1 reading:
PBMT_SETUPSTRUCTURES: Home directory (UserDir) set to C:\Users\mgrenley\AppData\Roaming
PBMT_SETUPSTRUCTURES: Temp directory (TempDir) set to C:\Users\mgrenley\AppData\Local\Temp
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature MRI = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature MSI = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: Feature WIP = 0
FBMT_CHECKFEATURE: License will never expireI’ve tried doing this again after turning wifi and bluetooth off and there is no difference.
I’ve attached a photo of the splash screen as i see it
Please advise.

I finally figured this out.
Thanks anyway.

how do you get the BiomapMRI features working?
do you still have to ask Bruker for a license?Thx
johanNovember 25, 2013 at 8:10 pm #1508Johan Van AudekerkeParticipantOur problem is: we can’t figure out the computer ID because
– the splash screen doesn’t show the bottom part
– it doesn’t ask for a license and
– disappears after a second. How can we license/use the BiomapMRI module?
thx
JohanNovember 25, 2013 at 9:20 pm #1509Markus StoeckliModeratorBioMap looks upon start for the file “licenserc.” and if this file contains any valid license, it will not show the splash screen. The only way to assemble a MSI and MRI license is by manually combining the info: Open BioMap, get the key for one modality, enter it, close BioMap and move the generated license file to a different location. Get another key for the 2nd modality open BioMap, enter it and close BioMap. Now edit the file to combine both keys. Please excuse for this complexity…

Since the license is bound to the MAC address of the network adapter, you may just copy your MAC address (all lower case, no separators) to the activation website and get a key. Please let me know if this worked.

December 10, 2013 at 2:11 am #1514Robert WinklerParticipantDear Marco,
can you tell us the secret? I tried putting the license key into the MSI field (with/ without WiFi ;-)) and also copying the licenserc into /biomap and ./biomap. Still grey *.imzML import.
Best, Robert
February 20, 2014 at 5:35 pm #1517pognonecParticipantSame problem here:
Win XP Pro5.1.2600 SP3, BioMap 3.8.0.4, IDL 8.3
When launching BioMap after installation, splash screen shows up for a few seconds, with no bottom fields, and disappears. Then BioMap opens up, but the Import/MSI is greyed out.Removing the BioMap folders found in Program files and user application data and reinstalling results in the same problem.
What should I do?
Thank you for your help.
February 21, 2014 at 11:18 am #1518Markus StoeckliModeratorWhen BioMap starts, it also opens a window in the background with the name “BioMap Output”. Could you have a look at the content of this window which might indicate where the problem might be. You may also post the content here and we’ll try to solve this issue.

I misplaced this response a few hours ago in another thread (Warnig~). Sorry for the confusion.
